EXPERIENCES FOR ALL TASTES!

Valtournenche valley, mostly known as the Matterhorn valley, is the ideal place for…

Sport lovers

In winter, the Matterhorn ski Paradise - an italian-swiss ski resort, inclusive of both resorts of Torgnon and Chamois, connecting Valtournenche and Cervinia to Zermatt, offers thousands of km of ski pistes of all grades of difficulty. Cross Country ski rings, breathtaking itineraries for freeriding, trails for snowshoeing, sled dog and snowmobiles, ice skating rinks and playgrounds for children.

In summer, besides numerous paths for walking, bike riding and horse riding, it is possible to go climbing in the adventure parks - in the artificial structures or directly at the crag - and several peaks can be climbed with the aid of a mountain guide or flown over in helicopter, hot air balloon or even paragliding. You can have fun along the PAR 69 of the Matterhorn Golf Club, the biggest 18 hole PAR in Italy, as well as ice skating at the Plateau Rosa.

Aosta valley, a small but highly touristic region, is the ideal place for…

Nature lovers

Aosta valley has a natural heritage of rare beauty: the Gran Paradiso National Park, the Mont-Avic natural park, 10 natural reserves, 4 botanical gardens, in addition to the “Natura 2000” ecological network’s sites.
In the last decades, the paths and mule tracks have undergone a transformation of use from rural-agricultural to hiking-tourist. To find out more about our region’s trail network go to https://mappe.regione.vda.it/pub/geosentieri/

…Art and History lovers…

In Aosta, ancient roman city founded by emperor Augustus in 25 B.C., you can visit the Roman Theatre, the Porta Pretoria, the Arch of Augustus, the Forum’s Cryptoporticus, Saints Peter and Orso’s Collegiate Church, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and San Giovanni Battista, the Megalithic Area of Saint-Martin-de-Corléans, the Regional Archeological Museum and Emile Chanoux Square.

Castles, towers and manors make the landscape of our region unique and distinctive. Among those open to the public there are: The Castel Savoia in Gressoney-Saint-Jean, the Fort of Bard, the Issogne Castle, the Verres Castle, the Ussel Castle, the Gamba Castle in Chatillon, the Fénis Castle, the Sarre Castle, the Sarriod de la Tour Castle and the Aymavilles Castle.

The Aosta Valley area, which boasts numerous DOP, DOP and PAT brands, is the ideal place for
… food lovers …

Aosta Valley’s territory offers a wide number of DOP, DOC and PAT quality marks.
Besides Fontina, Jambon de Bosses and Lard d’Arnad, in the valley are produced: meat, sausages, boudin, mocetta, cheese, butter, dark bread, honey, fruit jams, fruits, vegetables and wine. All these products are purchasable in the stores or directly from the local farms and they can also be tasted at the numerous traditional restaurants.

…Culture and Tradition lovers…

In many villages, still nowadays, can be found old rascards, greniers and ovens, witnesses of mountain life before the advent of tourism.
The artisan tradition speaks the language of wood, soapstones, baskets, leather, tissues and wrought iron. Every year on January 30 and 31, the best of craftsmanship is exhibited, in Aosta, at the Sant'Orso Fair, a millennial event paying tribute to the locals’ creativity.
Sculptures and works of art can be found outdoors, all year long, in the village of Champ in Perloz, along the way to the Rifugio Mont Fallère and in the woods of Pian Villy, in Champoluc.

Three destinations to visit!

Chamois

Located between the “Pearls of the Alps”, Chamois is the highest village in Europe. It is a timeless place, where automobiles are not present. It can only be reached on foot, by bike, by cable car or by landing in the small altiport.

Pré-Saint-Didier spa

Hot water gushing out of the mountain like 1000 years ago. Natural wood and stones for a total “remise en forme”. A true sensorial journey in the Mont Blanc massif.

Skyway Mont Blanc

The Skyway is not just a cable car. It is an actual experience: vertical, alpine, sustainable, gastronomic, cultural and even a bit surrealistic.
